Location
On the dorsal midline in the lumbosacral space between the last lumbar vertebra (L7) and the sacrum (S1) — the softest depression on the caudal dorsal midline.
Landmark: Lumbosacral space (L7-S1).
Actions and Indications
The principal point for the lower back and hindlimbs; raises yang and relieves pain — the most used point in veterinary acupuncture.
Needling
Perpendicular 1-3 cm by size; well suited to electroacupuncture paired with GV-3 or BL-23.
Cautions
Do not reach the spinal cord in a small patient.
