Location
In the depression caudal to the greater trochanter, midway between the trochanter and the ischiatic tuberosity.
Landmark: Depression caudal to the greater trochanter over the sciatic nerve.
Actions and Indications
Frees the hip and hindlimb and relieves sciatic pain.
Needling
Perpendicular 1.5-4 cm by size; a twitch may be felt at nerve depth.
Cautions
Withdraw slightly if the animal twitches strongly.
