Location
A set of points on both sides of the dorsal midline, about 0.5-1 cun lateral, at every interspinous space from the neck to the sacrum.
Landmark: Interspinous spaces at every level, lateral to the midline over the epaxial muscles.
Actions and Indications
Opens the channels along the spine; needled bracketing the affected level.
Needling
Oblique 30-45 degrees toward the midline, 0.5-2 cm; choose two or three levels above and below the lesion, usually with electroacupuncture across it.
Cautions
Over the thorax, never perpendicular and deep — pneumothorax risk.
