Location
On the dorsal midline between the last cervical and first thoracic vertebra (C7-T1); palpate the most prominent spinous process at the base of the neck.
Landmark: C7-T1 interspinous space.
Actions and Indications
Clears heat from the whole body, supports immunity, raises yang.
Needling
Oblique caudally, 0.5-1.5 cm.
Cautions
Do not needle straight down — risk to the spinal cord.
